Your Personal Relationship With Jesus (and Why You’d Want To)

If I have said it before, I am saying it again: this is the best time to know JESUS intimately!

This time in history is so special to us because we have everything in the natural and the supernatural to get intimate with God and also wrap things up down here.

I would have loved to hear this in my early years. Way before I chose my major in school, got married, had kids, and moved. I spent more time fasting in other to get something from God and praying so that He spared me misfortune than actually knowing Him. Just like most of us, I misunderstood His intentions towards me and that influenced some of my decisions BUT I’m so grateful to God. He is so kind and gracious to us. He has a way of making things right,

regardless of who or what.

You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me! (psalms 139:5)

Yes, He is that good.

It is His desire that we know Him intimately.

The one who we place our faith in is real and ALIVE and He is at the place of all power, honor, and authority!

Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named [ above every title taht can be onferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. (Ephesians 1:21 AMPC)

And that’s where we belong with JESUS. His resurrection is our resurrection too.

He wants us to experience Him personally. Every single one of us is a part of God that needs to be revealed. He put GIFTS inside us and has given us the ministry of reconciling others to Himself. We tell people that the price has been paid, nobody needs to do life alone nor should they go to hell. The blood of Jesus was enough. We now have access to our Father in Heaven.

In our art studio, businesses, nail and beauty studio, in the services we provide, He flows through us and we don’t have to fake it. It’s who we are, we have His Spirit.

Here are some of the reasons we don’t neglect our personal relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Your track record In other to be firmly convinced about Who God is and what He says about you. You will have to diligently spend time with him in His word and His Spirit. His Spirit gives us UNDERSTANDING (experientially). There are enough belief systems and life challenges out there to trip us up if we are not absolutely convinced.

… nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV)

Your weakness Seeing your tendencies with the help of the Holy Spirit is just different not only do you become humble but you also see God’s strength infused into you. And we learn to DEPEND on God more. We become sure of where our help truly comes from. And just like that, we forget how to do a day without Jesus.

This is the one who gives his strength and might to his people. This is the Lord giving us his kiss of peace.(psalms 29:11 TPT)

Your purpose – There is no other way to KNOW God’s purpose for your life than to stay closely with Him. He is the one who wrote our books. We let the Holy Spirit reveal His heart, secrets of our Father’s heart and it’s always good plans that are impossible without Him. It’s always eternal in value.

… everyday of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day has passed. (psalms 139:16 NLT)

If only we can let Him have His way with us, He’s got great plans for us. We shouldn’t look away from Him.

Soul vs Spirit – There is a clear difference between your Soul and your Spirit. While we can listen to teachings on the Body, Soul, and Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives life to the Word of God. He trains us in the ways of our Father in Heaven. He helps us DISCERN what is Soul and what is Spirit.

Each day, we choose to live in the Spirit, not in the Soul.

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)

We need to take our walk seriously. We are connected. Each one of us is contributing to the other. Which means everyone is valuable and needed!

Simple steps

Let’s Pray, friends.

Father in Heaven, thank you for your unfailing love towards us. We ask that you give us spiritual wisdom and insight so that we may know you. We pray that the eyes of our hearts be flooded with light so that we can understand the confident hope you’ve given to those you called. We also pray that we will understand the incredible greatness of your power for us who believe in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Ephesians 1:17-23)
